A win is a win, whether its 1-0, 2-0, penalty it doesnt matter.
Coulson are the champions no matter what you do, if cant beat them join them....

MEMORABLE MATCH: When NUST played ZRP Central in the ZIFA Unity Cup second round, I was played rightback by the coach, remember, by that time I was a striker, although we lost one nil, we were impressed considering that most of the players did not turn up for the match. I think that's when I started to develop an interest in playing defence.

WILL PORTO EVER BEAT COULSON?

Do you believe in 'jinx', if there is something like that well FC Porto are in something sort of a jinx. And they need something like a miracle to break it. One reggae legend sang, 'he who fights and run away lives to fight another day', little did he know that we have our friends (Porto) who will go through such things.
Firstly was the much awaited Coulson-Porto league match on the 3rd of November at NUST grounds. The Porto administrators made a terrible mistake of talking too much about this match before it was played, but I think on a positive note, it brought about almost the largest crowd to watch a match, the entire season!.

Well the cool and calm Coulson did not sweat to beat the more ambitious FC Porto, the match only needed two goal to send a clear fulfillment of the proverb which goes like 'empty vessels make too much noise'. Porto's defeat was very painful, imagine losing by two goals in the second half after threatening your opponents' goal for the better part of the first half. You know what, I feel pity for the Coulson golie Botha, yes it's not a mistake, you know Botha as the Coulson right back but did you know that he featured on two Coulson matches as a golie and those were Coulson's 2-0 and 1-0 wins against Porto and Masavhaya respectively, I was saying I felt pity for him because in the first half he was kept busy by the Porto marauding striker Kazza, three clear chances were missed by Kazza, I think if those chances could have fallen to Coulson striker Simba he could have burried all of them. Thanx to the big Coulson defender Day, Kazza was dealt with in the second half and that made Botha go to some sort of a holiday.
Then came the moment Porto would like to forget quickly, Coulson was awarded with two goals after a few chances were created.

As if it was not enough Porto officials organised a friendly match against Coulson in pretence that it was a celebration match since Coulson has just clinched the league title. At half time Porto was leading 3-1 after Kazza capitalised on a terrible mistake by the Coulson right back, Botha, to score the opening goal. Kazza then added another one. Just at the stroke of the first half, new acquisition Jerry pulled one for Coulson.
Before they settled in the second half Botha made it 3-2, Jerry became a menace in the last ten minutes with a good combination with Day from the back he scored two more goals to make it three for himself and four for Coulson.

Yes Porto lives to fight another day.

COULSON BEAT PORTO IN CELEBRATION FRIENDLY.

Coulson produced one of their greatest comebacks ever when they edged FC Porto 4-3 in a friendly match that was played as part of the celebrations for Coulson's title victory.

Kazza opened the scoresheet for Porto when he capitalised from Botha's terrible mistake right in the 18 yard box. The match went for halftime with Porto leading by three goals to one, Coulson's goal coming from trialist Jerry.
It seems coach Nobert poured some harsh words to the players especially the defenders during the breather. Coulson went into the second half a well determined side with Botha making for his mistake by grabbing the second goal for Coulson. The goal came as a result of a brilliant move involving the consistent defender Day who set up Botha with a through pass with Botha lobbing the ball over the advancing Porto goalkeeper.

The Coulson trialist Jerry impressed the coach by scoring two more gaols to make it four three. Also the last two goals came as a result of beautiful moves involving Day.
'I like venturing forward especially when Day is in there, in defence, because I know that he will cover for me and also he will deliver some defence splitting passes giving me a chance to score although I really score.' These were sentiments from Botha, the Coulson rightback who scored his first goal ever for the team.

SEASON ENDS IN BAD NOTE.

The last games of the season have seen Coulson becoming the league winners amid protests by Zhule who were beaten 1 nil by Masavhaya. Coulson needed to win against Calabash, fortunately Calabash failed to turn up for the match and the points given to Coulson thereby winning the league without kicking a ball.

Saurprisingly on the next Monday Zhule officials lodged a complaint to the Internal League organiser Mr SIbanda, Zhule alleged that Masavhaya used an external player. On seeing that this was not going to bear fruit they also further alleged that Coulson used anexternal golie on two occasions. This meant that Coulson was supposed to be deducted six points.
The matter is still in the hands of Mr Sibanda.

BATTLE OF THE FACULTY HAS BEEN WON!!

Coulson Wanderers produced a splendid performance to dismiss a determined PicoControllers United in a faculty derby at NUST grounds, Coulson won the match by one goal to nil a goal scored by Tshuma. Meanwhile ZhuleZhule are closer to clinching the title after thrushing CS Porto by four goals to nil, they stil maintain a one point lead over title rivals Coulson.
"The absence of star midfielder Glen and striker Simba affected the teams scoring, but we are impressed by their performance considering that these players have become old" these were sentiments from a delighted staunch supporter, Felix.

However coach Nobhabha expressed concern on whether Coulson will clinch the title saying that the team which will play Zhule Zhule in their last match is not strong enough." Now I can see that we were the ones who were supposed to beat Zhule Zhule in order for us to take the title, now we are counting on Masavhaya to beat them which is unethical", said Nobhabha.

You seem so tired, how was the match.
Ya the match was OK I think I was overworked in defence, we were missing the services of some of our players due to injury and exams currently going on.

Unfortunately you have lost the match what does that mean to your title aspirations?
Its bad that we have lost, but anyway I am happy with our performance, we are now left to see how will Coulson play against Calabash, I think our fate will be decided on this game.

What if Coulson wins?
Actually I wish all the best for Coulson, they deserve to take this title and we deserve to win also, so we leave it to our good God to decide.

Masavhaya surprises ZhuleZhule.

Masavhaya beat ZhuleZhule in an exciting match that featured star player Clive, who scored the only goal of the match that sank the log leaders. This result left ZhuleZhule wondering on what has actually happened to them. Also it meant that Coulson needed to win their match against Calabash to clinch the title.

The match ended badly with Zhule players threatening to take the game to court alleging that Masavhaya have used an illegal player, Clive.

Coulson holds end of season party. (27/11/06)

It was all smiles at the home of Coulson as there was the end of season party.
The party which was described by many as a success was characterised by good music from Dj Clive, picture below.

The ceremony was punctuated by different awards to honour the services of the players. The awards were as follows:

Player's player of the year: Day Marume
Most disciplined player: Zviko
Top goal scorer: Tafi
Coulson workhorse: Pizzo
Most influential: Botha

The prizes were sponsored by an international airline company to the tune of Z$50milion. The services of coach Nobhabha could not go unnoticed as he was given a present by the Coulson Supporters Association president Felix.

NUST defeated the highly fencied Queenspark Rangers at the Zim Saints Ground this past weekend. The NUST team was composed of five Coulson Wanderers players, Day, Simba,Glen,Dread and Pizzo.
Farai opened the scoring for the home team from his dreaded left boot. The NUSTIANS were found chasing shadows for the first fifteen minutes. Farai added the second goal in space of fifteen minutes but this did niot deter NUST's intentions of going to the breather with a respectable scoreline as they found the needed two goals through Coulson's striker Dread.

Coulson's big number five, Day found the winner in the second half when he received a very good looking pass from Coulson's craftiest midfielder Pizzo and did not hesitate to do what he knows best.

Also Glenn who turns out for Coulson was unlucky to hit the bar earlier on in the match. Coach was also impressed by the second choice goalie Simbarashe who turns out for PicoControllers, Simbarashe got the first team jersey ahead of the tired Zie.

Err Nobhabha how do you feel about this win?

A win is what we all needed so as to keep pressure on the log leaders Zhule Zhule, I am happy about the win but....

What are your comments about the absence of star midfielder Glen and striker Simba Mukusha, don't you think it greatly affected your scoring?.

Yes you are right, but don't forget that the end result was a win, our supporters expected fireworks today but let us not forget that the Pico guys also wanted to win.
So what are your plans since you are left with one game to win the championship?.

Its very difficult this time as you said we are left with one game to play and we hope that Masavhaya gets a result against Zhule Zhule, but see we are now relying on other teams performance, now I can see that we were the ones who were supposed to beat Zhule Zhule in order for us to take the title.
